If you are on a diet, watching what you eat, or even following a prep for a competition, it may be tough to sneak waffles in for meal without going over your daily macro limit or you may just stay away from them because most of them can be an unhealthy and non-nutrious meal.
Well this recipe is super easy and is about as clean as it gets for calories, sugar, carbohydrates etc. without sacrificing flavor/taste. The ingredients are listed below with the directions to follow. This probably takes 10 minutes tops to complete. You will need basic cooking utensils along with a waffle iron/maker.
***You can try many different flavors of protein or add ingredients such as cinnamon, whipped cream, or sugar free maple syrup.
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop Protein Powder; I used Quest Nutrition Protein Powder. (Check out our selection here)
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 2 eggs
- ⅓ cup water
Directions:
- Heat a waffle iron to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together Protein Powder, baking powder, water, and 2 eggs.
- Coat waffle iron with cooking spray.
- Add waffle batter and cook for roughly 5 minutes.
- Enjoy.
